Monsters: Faerun Monsters

I've been asked to convert a lot of Forgotten Realm stuff, so expect to see content from the FR books to pop up from time to time here. First, let's convert some monsters. Tressyms are flying, intelligent cats. Rothes are Faerun-specific herd animals used as cattle. Winged vipers and two-headed adders are Faerun-specific snakes.

Automatons (isn't the plural form automata?) are clockwork constructs given quasi-consciousness via shadow magic. I actually like them a lot, I've used them several times in my D&D games, but not in GURPS. At least yet.

One thing that I've noticed about Fiendish Codex II is that most of the new devils are overloaded with special abilities. I really like the falxugon, I even used it in one of my games once, to the great dismay of the players/PCs.

Mnemors are psychic devils that are quite forgettable. I do not understand how Paizo authors decide on which abilities will be magical and which abilities will be psychic. Seems random to me.

This is not a true dragon, so it does not get 12 age categories. A fiendish agent that lives among the humanoids. While writing this one up I noticed a major mistake that should affect a lot of statblocks, but by the time this post is up all mistakes should be fixed.

And now the last of the lung dragons - the carp dragon. This is the larval form of all other lung dragons that transforms into a random mature form instantly as soon as it reaches a certain age, like a pokemon. That one of the tasks finished!

Sorcery: Forgotten Realms Spells I

The first batch of spells from the Forgotten Realms setting ported over to Sorcery. Spiderform is a specialized polymorph spell. Spider Curse is an incredibly expensive spell that turns a person into a drider-like creature and temporarily enslaves it. Mass Badger Paws takes inspiration from Mass Burrow. The non-mass version is pretty much identical to GURPS' Badger Paws, so let's just make a mass version. Ball Lightning is a bit different from Ball of Lightning. Blindsight and Tremorsense are sensory spells.

Magical spells and abilities rely on mana in GURPS. The description and the fact that this is a limitation imply that low-mana areas are more common than high mana areas. Personally, I've always found myself forgetting about including mana level variations, but I promised myself to be wary of this in the future. What if you want to determine the local mana level on the fly? The area in question can be as large or as small as you want.
