Monsters: Random Animals

In this post, I update some of my old conversion notes - several random animals from the D&D books. As far as I recall, I based the stats on GURPS Animalia and made some adjustments. One thing remains a mystery to me - why was the indricothere printed in Fiend Folio? That's so out of place.

However, it gets a DX-4 roll to hit each foe in close combat with it once per turn, as a free action. Roll at +2 against foes who attacked it from behind. Those who grapple or slam the eurythoe are hit immediately and automatically – and those who slam it take maximum damage!
    Agonizing Poison: Eurythoe’s spines are covered in an agonizing poison. Anyone taking damage from the spines must roll against HT or suffer from terrible pain for margin of failure minutes.

The odontogriphus can drain the victim’s life if the victim is helpless (pinned, stunned, unconscious, etc.), grappled, or willing. If he is wearing armor, the odontogriphus’s biting damage must penetrate its DR. Once the odontogriphus has bitten through the victim’s DR, it can drain 1 HP per second from him. For every 3 HP stolen, the odontogriphus heals 1 HP or 1 FP (its choice). It cannot raise his HP or FP above normal this way.
