Poisons: Dragon Magazine Poisons I

Poisons: Dragon Magazine Poisons I

Apparently, I missed some poisons that I needed to convert. These are contact poisons introduced in Dragon Magazine Compendium Volume 1.

Monsters: Neogi

Monsters: Neogi

Ah, neogi - one of my favorites! These alien aberrations' mindset dictates that everyone is either a slave or a master. Thus, the entire neogi society is a multi-tiered chain of masters and slaves. Their lore is very interesting, so I'd recommend reading Lords of Madness and an article about them in Dragon Magazine #214.

Alchemy: Faerun Poisons

Alchemy: Faerun Poisons

Races of Faerun, Underdark, and Serpent Kingdoms (I omitted the ossra oils - they would require a little bit different framework) for D&D 3.5 have some poisons that I have not converted to GURPS yet. The last non-Dragon Magazine poisons.

Monsters: Tohr-Kreen

Monsters: Tohr-Kreen

I've you've ever played D&D, you've probably heard of the thri-kreen - psionic nomadic mantisfolk. But torh-kreen? They are thri-kreen's settled and colour-coded relatives.

Monsters: Faerun Monsters II

Monsters: Faerun Monsters II

Another batch of assorted Forgotten Realms monsters. Watchspiders are more intelligent than normal monstrous spiders, and can be trained as guards. Dweomervores are small dragons with a wide array of spell-like abilities that feed on magic items. Osquips are multilegged rodents. Cavvekans are underground bat-dogs.

Monsters: Faerun Monsters

Monsters: Faerun Monsters

I've been asked to convert a lot of Forgotten Realm stuff, so expect to see content from the FR books to pop up from time to time here. First, let's convert some monsters. Tressyms are flying, intelligent cats. Rothes are Faerun-specific herd animals used as cattle. Winged vipers and two-headed adders are Faerun-specific snakes.

Monsters: Random Animals

Monsters: Random Animals

In this post, I update some of my old conversion notes - several random animals from the D&D books. As far as I recall, I based the stats on GURPS Animalia and made some adjustments. One thing remains a mystery to me - why was the indricothere printed in Fiend Folio? That's so out of place.

Monsters: Abeils

Monsters: Abeils

Abeils are bee-like humanoids from the Monster Manual II. Honestly, this is an interesting race, but I do not think it was ever expanded upon in any other supplements.

Monsters: Demons III

Monsters: Demons III

Fiend Folio has quite a lot of fiends, hence the title. It provides seven demonic entries. Alkilith is an ooze demon that is repulsive even to other demons. Blood fiend is not actually a demon, but a vampire variant that feeds on demon blood (fiendish dire bat was converted to provide a template for one of the alternate forms). Klurichir is a powerhouse that terrifies even balors. Maurezhi is a ghoulish demon that consumes corpses and assumes their form. The other three have a common theme, so I will write a separate post.

Monsters: Abyssal Demons

Monsters: Abyssal Demons

Monster Manual II has eight new demons that, surprisingly, did not get get updated to 3.5 in any of thefollow-up supplements. The first three demons are abyssal maws, abyssal skulkers, and abyssal ravagers. At first I thought that they are boring, but now I appreciate them as low-point-value demons that can be summoned by the PCs, as the templates mostly lack the expensive energy resistances and spell-like abilities. Nice!

Monster: Abyssal Drake

Monster: Abyssal Drake

A crossbreed between a wyvern, a demon, and a red dragon. Weird, but cool.

Monsters: Chitine and Choldrith

Monsters: Chitine and Choldrith

This post will convert two related creatures from the Forgotten Realms setting - the chitine and the choldrith. Both are spider-people, but different.

Monster: Banelar

Monster: Banelar

Banelars are nagas from the Forgotten Realms setting. They have very weak tentacles that they use to
manipulate items (usually wands), and a poisonous stinger. They look very cool, in my opinion.

Monsters: Asabis

Monsters: Asabis

The Forgotten Realms setting has a minor race of lizardmen that dwell in the desert. The asabi also
have a larger, stupider subrace called the stingtails. Despite the name, they do not have any stingers.

Monster: Fang Dragon

Monster: Fang Dragon

Fang dragons lack a breath weapon, but instead possess larger fangs, a more agile tail that ends with
two blades, and poison.

Alchemy: Scoundrel Poisons

Alchemy: Scoundrel Poisons

This post will describe the conversion of various poisons from Complete Scoundrel for D&D 3.5. Some of them are pretty exotic.
