It has come to this - the bicycle kick of Liu Kang.

Martial Arts: Split Punch Technique

Martial Arts: Split Punch Technique

I've already covered Johnny Cage's shadow kick, but let's also do his split punch. I don't even think this counts as a cinematic technique, so the asterisk is gone.

Martial Arts: Slide Kick Technique

Martial Arts: Slide Kick Technique

Let's have another Mortal Kombat move as a cinematic technique.

Martial Arts: Racial Martial Arts Styles

Martial Arts: Racial Martial Arts Styles

Dragon Magazine #303 has a very interesting article that describes many racial martial arts styles (something akin to GURPS Martial Arts: Yrth Fighting Styles). Let's convert them to GURPS.

Martial Art: Sidewinder

Martial Art: Sidewinder

I found another monk variant in Dragon Magazine #331. Works well as a GURPS martial style.

Dragon Magazine #346 has six martial styles for monks who follow specific lawful deities. So, let's convert them to GURPS.

Martial Arts: Dragon Magazine Weapon Styles

Martial Arts: Dragon Magazine Weapon Styles

"Styles" in D&D are weird. Some of them are tactical feats, some of them are martial style feats, some of them are weapon style feats, and some of them are class features. I've already covered almost all the styles derived from feats, and the only ones that are left are the four weapon styles from Dragon Magazine #332 (I only convert three because Storm of Flying Strikes doesn't really give me much to work with). Aside from that, it's probably possible to come up with styles based on certain base or prestige classes, and Pathfinder also has some feat chains that represent fighting styles.

Martial Arts: Dragon Magazine Styles

Martial Arts: Dragon Magazine Styles

Aside from the Kara-Tur styles I converted in the other post, there's also an article about some other martial styles in the issue 309. Let's convert those too. Many of them are quite simple and can be used as a base to develop more complex styles.

Martial Arts: Raiden Torpedo Technique

Martial Arts: Raiden Torpedo Technique

I love the Drop Kick technique in GURPS Martial Arts. But what if we "reverse" the drop kick? That's right, we will get Raiden's torpedo slam move. I'll try to utilize the technique-building system from GURPS Martial Arts to accomplish this. Also, this is not the same as the Human Missile technique from GURPS Supers.

Martial Arts: Kara-Tur Styles

Martial Arts: Kara-Tur Styles

Dragon Magazine #315 details four martial arts styles for Kara-Tur monks. They do not really seem very setting-specific, so I'm sure you could easily use them in any setting. Let's convert them to GURPS.

Martial Art: Metered Style

Dragon Magazine #337 has a nice martial style - the metered style for monks. Let's port it over.

 Martial Arts: Generic Monk Styles

Unearthed Arcana for D&D 3.5 has several monk variants to represent different fighting styles. Let's convert them to martial styles.

Martial Art: Bladesong

Martial Art: Bladesong

Bladesinger is a prestige class in D&D 3.0/3.5 for elves. Bladesingers use a rapier or broadsword in one hand, and keep the other hand empty for spellcasting. They are mostly known for speed and agility.

Martial Arts: Complete Warrior Styles

Martial Arts: Complete Warrior Styles

While we're on the topic of martial arts, let's convert the combat styles from Complete Warrior. The Net and Trident style basically is the Retiarius style from GURPS Martial Arts: Gladiators with a generic name, so it does not require a conversion.

My friend who goes by the moniker of Comrade Point and who helped me a lot with various issues on this blog and also was a participant of arena combats wrote up a couple of martial arts for monsters - imps and aboleths. Check them out!

One of my players came up with a neat martial art for halflings to be able to stand up against tall people.
