Pantheon: Sumerian Pantheon

Pantheon: Sumerian Pantheon

And here we have the Sumerian pantheon from On Hallowed Ground.

Pantheon: Pharaonic Pantheon

Pantheon: Pharaonic Pantheon

And now let's do the same to the Egyptian pantheon from Deities & Demigods and On Hallowed Ground.

Pantheon: Babylonian Pantheon

Pantheon: Babylonian Pantheon

The Great Wheel cosmology of D&D houses not only the made up deities (some of whom were inspired by the ones from the real world mythos), but also several pantheons directly borrowed from the real world mythos. On Hallowed Ground for Planescape describes them, albeit shortly. I have a need for the Babylonian pantheon, so here's the conversion.

Monster/Racial Template: Xvart

Monster/Racial Template: Xvart

Xvarts are small humanoids, akin to goblins. They can speak with rats and bats. Despite their insignificance, they have a racial deity - Raxivort.

Monster/Racial Template: Asherati

Monster/Racial Template: Asherati

The asherati from Sandstorm are an interesting race, something like sand merfolk. They should be cheap enough to be a valid PC racial template. Also, I provide a statblock for the deity that they worship.

Pantheon: Warrior Gods

Pantheon: Warrior Gods

Complete Warrior for D&D 3.5 describes a pantheon of warrior gods for martially focused games. The book provides only barebones descriptions. Let's adapt them to GURPS, so there's more variery among the warpriests.

Pantheon: Vedic Pantheon

Pantheon: Vedic Pantheon

Just like in the previous post - here's a Vedic pantheon for India-inspired nations and peoples. Mostly just taken from Planescape and GURPSified.

Pantheon: The Celestial Bureaucracy

Pantheon: The Celestial Bureaucracy

While working on the "oriental" parts of my setting, I realized that the standard D&D deities do not really work thematically. So, I had to read how Planescape, Forgotten Realms, and Dominions did it, and wrote up a quite generic pantheon. Nothing inspired, but at least now there are statblocks for deities, and that's important for the clerics and other characters with divine powers.

Monsters: Turtlemen

Monsters: Turtlemen

Red Steel is an obscure D&D setting that was discontinued. Dragon Magazine #315 talks about it and provides a conversion of the tortle race for D&D 3.5. And I'll convert it to GURPS. I wish they racial pantheon was expanded upon more - I will provide only some basics. In addition, I will convert several similar races from my Neritia mod for Dominions 5 to cover a wide range of turtles/tortoises. Turtlemen are amphibious beings (but prefer staying underwater). Hardshells are turtlemen with especially thick shells and slow reflexes. Snappers are carnivorous, barbaric turtlemen with sharp beaks. Zaratanlings are very young zaratans, humanoid and very strong. Blackshells are hatched from zaratan eggs corrupted by undead spirits. This does not make them malevolent, but makes them partially undead. Finally, dragonshells are turtlemen with dragon turtle blood.

Pantheon: Fey Deities

Pantheon: Fey Deities

D&D fey have a quite extensive pantheon of deities that weren't really described in much detail. AuldDragon has done a great job creating very detailed entries for most of them. I'll just take a paragraph for each one, link to the original post, and provide all the mechanical information relevant to my GURPS games. I like how the pantheon has intersections with the elven, gnomish, centaur, and even draconic pantheons.

Pantheon: Heliophagi

Pantheon: Heliophagi

Heliophagi are demon lords from the Dominions video game series. They hold power over darkness and some other aspects, depending on the heliophagus in question. After I converted the shadow demon from D&D, I realized that there is nothing stopping me from introducing the heliophagi in my D&D-like setting. Shadow demons appear when essence of a demon slain outside of the Abyss fails to reform properly. Thus, the shadow demons fall outside of the tanar'ri/obyrith/loumara/spider-demon classification. What happens if a demon lord is slain outside of the Abyss and fails to reform properly? A shadow demon lord, or heliophagus, happens. Makes sense to me.

Racial Templates/Monsters: Races of Stone

Racial Templates/Monsters: Races of Stone

Let's convert races from Races of Stone. Goliaths are a quite interesting race, and the feral garguns are their more savage offshoot. The stonechildren were first printed in the Miniatures Handbook, but then reprinted in Races of Stone as a "playable" race.

Powers/Sorcery: Clerical and Divine Empowerments in Action

Powers/Sorcery: Clerical and Divine Empowerments in Action

One of my patrons asked me to write up an example of clerical and divine empowerments in action. That's quite understandable, as those abilities are somewhat complex and confusing. Let's try to make things more clear!

Pantheon: Extra Minor Deities

Pantheon: Extra Minor Deities

This post makes a small addition to my setting's pantheon. Kyuss is a well-known being in the D&D universe, but the other three deities are only mentioned once, barely have any description, and one of them doesn't even have his domains listed.

Monster: Rakshasa

Monster: Rakshasa

Let's go back to converting monsters, there aren't that many left in the Monster Manual for D&D 3.5. This post details the rakshasa - an innately magical shapeshifting/mindreading tigerman. Also, I decided to also add the description of their racial deity Ravanna from the Dragon Magazine #326. The deity's portfolio is very similar to the scope of rakshasas innate spellcasting, so why would a rakshasa worship their own racial deity? I've decided to change things a bit to make the deity expand their racial spellcasting.

Powers/Sorcery: Divine Empowerment

Powers/Sorcery: Divine Empowerment

When preparing for a new game, I was pointed out that many of my Sorcery-based magic subsystems are not very well balanced against each other. During the revision it also became apparent that divine magic does not feel divine enough, so here is my revision.

Pantheon: Archomentals

Pantheon: Archomentals

Archomentals, again, do not have definitive dogma, but ask their worshipers to forward their goals. Good archomentals, just like celestial paragons, do not encourage the formation of their cults, so only evil archomentals are listed.

Pantheon: Archdevils

Pantheon: Archdevils

Again, just as demon lords, the archdevils do not have a definitive dogma. Most of them require their priests to find ways of them to gain power on the Material Plane.

Pantheon: Demon Lords

Pantheon: Demon Lords

While I am done with the truly divine part of the pantheon, I still have to cover three categories of quasi-divine beings that still can grant spells to their worshipers. Demon lords usually do not have a clear dogma, and their clerics take a generic demonic disadvantage for the Pact limitation or something appropriate to the goals of the demon lord.

Pantheon: Other Deities

Pantheon: Other Deities

And here we have the rest of D&D deities that are more or less relevant to my setting. Again, most of the info is taken from Wikipedia, D&D splatbooks, and AuldDragon's blog.
