Wizardly Styles

GURPS Thaumatology – Magical Styles provides an engine to build various styles of magic. They can either be mandatory in worlds where all mages must learn at specific schools or academies, or non-compulsory in worlds where such stylists gain access to unique spells and/or options. Just like martial styles, magical styles can add a lot of flavor to the setting. I really like the concept, but since I am not a big fan of the vanilla magic system, I was missing out.

Alchemy: Positoxins

Another D&D type of poison is the positoxin. Introduced in Libris Mortis and never mentioned again, they act as poisons to corporeal undead, while leaving all other creatures unaffected. They require the brewer to have the ability to channel positive energy - in GURPS terms I will replace it with the requirement of powers granted by a good deity. Also, this qualifies for a new specialty for the Poisons skill. Positoxins rely on mana and do not function in no-mana zones.

David L. Pulver wrote the Dark Alchemy article for Pyramid #3-91, describing a new alchemical tradition. These are the last non-converted elixirs from currently released supplements. These elixirs might use the standard Alchemy skill or a new specialty - Alchemy (Dark). I'd prefer it to be the latter. I suggest moving elixirs of Lichdom, Reanimation, and Partial Resurrection to this tradition too.
