Alchemy: Drow Poisons

Alchemy: Drow Poisons

Let's convert the normal, not magic-infused poisons from Drow of the Underdark.

Darklight Brew
Darklight ore is powdered and cut with a mild acid to create this poison. The radiation of the ore is diminished greatly in this process, but its effect becomes acute when it is introduced into the bloodstream. A living victim must make an immediate HT-2 roll or suffer 1d-1 toxic damage. Every second for 4 more cycles he must make another HT-2 roll to resist or take the same amount of damage. After losing 1/2 HP to this poison, the victim becomes blinded until he heals above this threshold.
Form: Follow-Up Poison.
Cost: $330 (singular); $120 (5-batched).
Recipe: $33; 1 day; defaults to Poisons-2.
Statistics: Toxic Attack 1d-1 (Cyclic, 1 second, 4 cycles, Resistible, +200%; Follow-Up Poison, -20%; Resistible, HT-2, -20%; Symptoms, 1/2 HP, Blindness, +100%) [11].

Fish Glue
The body oil of captured kuo-toas is used to create this poison, which is named for the rigidity it causes in the joints of the victim and its characteristic fishy smell. The victim must resist with HT or become nauseated and get a -4 penalty to DX for margin of failure minutes.
Form: Follow-Up Poison.
Cost: $450 (singular); $160 (5-batched).
Recipe: $45; 2 days; defaults to Poisons-2.
Statistics: Affliction 1 (HT; Attribute Penalty, DX-4, +40%; Follow-Up Poison, -20%; Nauseated, +30%) [15].

Illithid Mindscorch
The brain matter of recently slain illithids can be distilled, capturing some of its psionic potential and creating this extremely rare poison. Though it is a liquid in its basic form, it is ineffective unless reduced to an aerosol and absorbed through the nasal passages of the victim. This poison flask can be thrown (range is STx3.5). Hitting a hard surface, it breaks, creating a cloud of poison gas in a 2-yard radius. The cloud persists for 10 seconds and may drift with the wind. Any creature that inhales the gas makes an HT roll to resist. On failure, the creature takes -4 to IQ for 1 minute.
Form: Grenade.
Cost: $930 (singular); $335 (5-batched).
Recipe: $93; 5 days; defaults to Poisons-4.
Statistics: Affliction 1 (HT; Area Effect, 2 yards, +50%; Attribute Penalty, -3 to IQ, +30%; Drifting, +20%; Fixed Duration, +0%; Grenade, +25%; Persistent, +40%; Reduced Duration, 1/3, -10%; Respiratory Agent, +50%) [31].

Psychotropic Rot
Distilled violet fungus and other chemicals can be mixed together to create this insidious toxin. A living victim who ingests the poison must make a HT roll after 10 minutes or suffer 1d-1 toxic damage. Every minute for 6 more cycles he must make another HT roll to resist or take the same amount of damage. After losing 1/2 HP to this poison, the victim gains a -2 penalty to IQ until he heals above this threshold.
Form: Ingested Poison.
Cost: $150 (singular); $55 (5-batched).
Recipe: $15; 1 day; defaults to Poisons-1.
Statistics: Toxic Attack 1d-1 (Cyclic, 1 minute, 6 cycles, Resistible, +120%; Ingested Poison, -85%; Onset, 10 minutes, -10%; Resistible, HT, -30%; Symptoms, 1/2 HP, -2 IQ, +40%) [5].

Roach Paste
This brown paste is made from the crushed bodies of the carrion-eating giant roaches found in the Underdark. It is known for its horrendous smell. The victim must resist with HT or become nauseated for margin of failure seconds. Regardless of the result of this HT roll, two days later the victim must make an HT-2 roll to avoid contracting filth fever. Filth fever is a disease that deals 1d-2 toxic damage each 12 hours for 12 cycles. Each instance of damage can be resisted with a HT-2 roll. After losing 1/3 HP to this disease, the victim gets a -2 penalty to DX and HT until he heals above this threshold.
Form: Follow-Up Poison.
Cost: $420 (singular); $150 (5-batched).
Recipe: $42; 1 day; defaults to Poisons-2.
Statistics: Affliction 1 (HT; Follow-Up Poison, -20%; Link, +10%; Nauseated, +30%; Reduced Duration, 1/60, -35%) [9] + Toxic Attack 1d-2 (Follow-Up Poison, -20%; Link, +10%; Resistible, HT-2, -20%; Onset, 2 days, -30%; Cyclic, 12-hour cycle with 12 cycles, +120%; Symptoms, 1/3 HP, DX-2, HT-2, +90%) [5].

Underdark Blight
Running a chemical solution over certain rare ores and minerals found in the Underdark creates this poison; it is effective at removing magic resistance. A living victim must make an immediate HT-3 roll or suffer 1 toxic damage. Every second for 9 more cycles he must make another HT-3 roll to resist or take the same amount of damage. After losing 1/3 HP to this poison, the victim gains Magic Susceptibility 2 (p. B143) or has his Magic Resistance decreased by 2 until he heals above this threshold.
Form: Contact Poison.
Cost: $180 (singular); $65 (5-batched).
Recipe: $18; 1 day; defaults to Poisons-1.
Statistics: Toxic Attack 1 (Contact Poison, -5%; Cosmic, Compatible with Magic Resistance, +50%; Cyclic, 1 seconds, 9 cycles, Resistible, +450%; Resistible, HT-3, -15%; Symptoms, 1/3 HP, Magic Susceptibility 2, +20%) [6].
