Monster: Gray Jester

Monster: Gray Jester

An old conversion that was lying around in my old conversion file and needed some reworking. A malicious fey that feeds on positive emotions.

    Punch (13): thrust 1d-3 crushing, Reach C.
Scepter (14): swing 1d+2 crushing, Reach 1. Effectively, this is a small mace.
Hideous Laughter (12): A gray jester may touch a sapient creature or hit it with the scepter, then roll a Quick Contest of Will with it. If the subject fails to resist, it begins to laugh uncontrollably for a number of minutes equal to the gray jester’s margin of victory. While laughing, the creature is at -3 to DX, at -1 to IQ, and cannot use Stealth.
Empathic Feeding (12): A gray jester may drain joyous emotions from sapient beings who are experiencing laughter, joy, or similar emotions (this includes magically evoked emotions, such as Hideous Laughter). A gray jester may feed on emotions of multiple creatures, but they all must be within a 4-yard-radius area. Roll a Quick Contest of Will between the gray jester and the victims, using normal range penalties. If a victim fails, he gains the Killjoy disadvantage (p. B140) and a -2 penalty to Will for a number of minutes equal to the gray jester’s margin of victory. Should a victim fail by 5 or more, or fail critically, he instead permanently becomes a bleak one.
