Monster: Octopin

Another obscure illithid-related monster that is called octopin despite having only six tentacles. Honestly, I like this one a lot, it differs enough from "normal creature, but with several illithid abilities spliced onto it."

Tentacle Grapple (26): The tentacles are not very strong, but the octopin has many of them. Wrestling at DX+1 gives the octopin a ST score of 13 for the purpose of grappling. The octopin has Constriction Attack. Effective skill 26 includes a +6 bonus for using 4 tentacles at once (it needs at least two tentacles to prop itself up). Reach C-2. The tentacles give +4 with tasks that require a firm grip (including climbing).
Sharp Beak (14): thrust 1d-2 large piercing (KYOS: 1d-1 large piercing), Reach C.
Pincers (14): Two of the tentacles end with pincers. They deal 1d-1 cutting (KYOS: 1d cutting) damage, Reach C-2. The octopin can either nip and let go or hold on and grapple the victim in addition to injuring him. Either is an attack that takes full hit location penalties – not halved for grappling. Treat this attack as a bite for these purposes (see Teeth on page 115 of GURPS Martial Arts for details).
Penetrating Sight: The octopin’s vision can penetrate all magical deceptions: camouflage, disguises, invisibility, and illusions. In addition, the octopin can see through up to 2 feet of solid matter. It can just barely see the outline of the substance it is looking through – not enough to impair vision in any way.
Slowing Gaze (14): The octopin can spend 1 FP to fire a white eye ray that gives the subject the Decreased Time Rate (p. B129) disadvantage for 3 minutes, if he fails to resist with an unopposed HT roll. Apply DR of the hit location (ignoring DR with tough skin) as a bonus to this roll. The attack has range of 100 yards.
