Monster: Vaath
And this is the last monster from the Book of Vile Darkness. I've always overlooked this one, but nowthat I read through its entry more thoroughly I can see that it's one of the most terrifying monsters to encounter. Luckily, they dwell in Carceri, and who wants to be there?

Sharp Teeth (13): thrust 1d cutting (KYOS: 2d-1 cutting) + follow-up poison (affliction resisted by HT; paralysis for margin of failure minutes), Reach C.
Sharp Claws (13): thrust 1d cutting (KYOS: 2d-1 cutting), Reach C-1.
Mouth Tendril (13): The vaath has a tendril that ends with a mouth that emerges from its forehead. The vaath can perform an Attack maneuver with it in addition to any other attacks it makes during its turn. The vaath deals thrust 1d+1 cutting (KYOS: 2d cutting), Reach C-1. The vaath can either nip and let go or hold on and grapple the victim in addition to injuring him. Either is an attack that takes full hit location penalties – not halved for grappling. Treat this attack as a bite for these purposes (see Teeth on page 115 of GURPS Martial Arts for details).
Sensory Telepathic Conduit: The vaath’s only magical ability comes into play when its mouth-tendril has burrowed deep within its prey (when it deals worry damage). When the vaath begins savoring the meat and organs of the creature, it telepathically transmits the sensation of taste (and its own enjoyment of it) to all within 10 yards - including the victim. Creatures must make a Fright Check at a -7 penalty. A successful roll makes the creature immune to this ability for one hour. Creatures that regularly feed on the type of creature being devoured are immune to this effect. But no creature, not even another vaath, is immune to the horror of experiencing what its own entrails taste like.
