Martial Art: Snap, Crackle, and Pop

Martial Art: Snap, Crackle, and Pop

One of my players came up with a neat martial art for halflings to be able to stand up against tall people.
Snap, Crackle, and Pop is the halfling self-defense art of quickly incapacitating opponents larger than the practitioner. Born out of a necessity of living in a world where most potential opponents tower over the practitioner; Snap, Crackle, and Pop eschews flashy movements in favor of brutal, calculated efficiency.

Snap, Crackle, and Pop puts an emphasis on crippling limbs and taking the fight out of an opponent as quickly as possible. Practitioners will generally start out a fight in a defensive posture, banking on their opponents being overly aggressive due to the practitioner's small stature. Upon a successful parry, Practitioners will follow up with a throw, arm lock or both if the practitioner is particularly skilled (or aggressive). Practitioners are also taught to strike at joints whilst the opponent is placed in arm lock, primarily favoring the knees. It should be noted that Practitioners should not spend extended periods of time in the grapple. The primary objective is to break the opponent and leave them vulnerable on the ground as quickly as possible.

In terms of weapons, Snap, Crackle, and Pop practitioners generally prefer weapons with long reach and projections. Practitioners will use these weapons to sweep and hook at their opponents legs, so as to get them on the ground as quickly as possible.

While their opponent is grounded, practitioners will often switch to short blades to deliver killing blows, targetting vitals or armor gaps if the opponent is armored.
