Monsters: Elemental Demons

Dragon Magazine Compendium I has an entire new category of demons - elemental demons. That's... five demon categories now? But anyway, these ones are actually pretty cheap point-wise and seem to be useful as low-ish level foes and potentially useful summons.

    Form of Ashes: By taking a Ready maneuver, the ash demon can transform itself into a cloud of fine ash. This costs 2 FP to activate and 1 FP to maintain. This acts as Injury Tolerance (Diffuse) with the Misty limitation (GURPS Horror, p. 15). The ash demon can use its supernatural abilities while in the cloud form.
    Stream of Ashes (12): A 10-yard jet of ash erupts from the demon’s mouth. Don’t apply range penalties; treat this as a long melee weapon rather than a ranged attack. This ability costs 2 FP to use. A victim who makes a Sense roll to notice the attack in time may hold his breath (see Holding Your Breath, p. 351). If he does not, he takes 1d fatigue damage, ignoring DR. Treat FP lost to this attack as FP lost to suffocation for all purposes. This is a respiratory agent that is blocked completely by Doesn’t Breathe and Filter Lungs. If cumulative FP damage from this attack exceeds 1/3 of the victim’s FP value, he starts to cough (p. B428) until he regains FP above this threshold.

    Fire of Earth: An earth demon's blood runs as hot as fiery lava. An earth demon seeps fire if he suffers any cutting, impaling, or piercing injury. He bleeds on the weapon that wounded him – or his foe, if attacked with Claws, Teeth, etc. Until he stops bleeding (see Bleeding, p. B420), the fiery blood drips on everything nearby. This works like any other Aura, and the demon can deliberately attack others by flicking his blood around. Blood deals 1d burning damage per second for 10 seconds and can be extinguished by normal means.

    Ice Blade (14): With a Ready maneuver, the ice demon can form two ice shortswords in its hands. These shortswords deal thrust 1d-1 impaling (KYOS: 1d impaling) or swing 1d+2 cutting damage at Reach 1. For parrying purposes, they have an effective weight equal to 1.2 lbs, DR 2, and HP 8. If disarmed, released, or broken, an ice blade melts instantly, but the ice demon can form a new one. When an ice demon successfully injures a foe with an ice blade, the ice blade deposits small, razor-sharp slivers of ice in the wound. These bits of abyssal ice remain dormant for 3d seconds, then surge to life, digging into the victim’s flesh and dealing 1d non-incendiary burning damage from extreme cold before melting away, ignoring DR. These shards can be extracted with a successful Surgery roll that takes 4 seconds before they have a chance to harm the victim.

    Waters of Fire: A swimming water demon can open the vents along its torso and forcefully expel gouts of superheated steam that cause the water in a 4-yard radius around him to boil. Everything within the area takes 1d non-incendiary burning damage. The churning water also decreases visibility, imposing a -3 penalty to Vision rolls made through it using normal vision or Infravision. Each use costs 1 FP and lasts 10 seconds.
