Alchemy: Gold Rings

Alchemy: Gold Rings

Here we have gold rings for metallic alchemy.

Ring of Focus
Generates a point of intense light at the outside of the ring, comparable to that created by a lens under full sunlight. When touching an object with the ring consult Making Things Burn (p. B433) – a target rated from Super-Flammable to Resistant ignites immediately. Anything more resistant to fire will not catch fire. This effect does no actual damage to the object, though it will likely take damage from the resultant fire.
Duration: Instantaneous.
Cost: $60.
Recipe: $6; 1 day; defaults to Alchemy (Metallic)-1.
Statistics: Burning Attack 3 points (Incendiary, +10%; Melee Attack, Reach C, Cannot Parry, -35%; Magical, -10%; No Wounding, -50%) [1 x 2 = 2].

Ring of Foresight
The wearer sees a vision of the next major turning point in his life. If there is danger ahead or an important decision to be made, it’s reasonable for the vision to refer to it. An attempt to use this ring requires 10 minutes of concentration, 2 FP, and an IQ roll at -8. The wearer can only read his own future. The ring of foresight is normally limited to “seeing” into the near future – perhaps a week or so. At the GM’s option, however, a critical success or a very important event might result in visions from much further in the future.
Duration: Instantaneous.
Cost: $300.
Recipe: $30; 1 day; defaults to Alchemy (Metallic)-1.
Statistics: Precognition (Accessibility, Self Only, -10%; Active Only, -60%; Magical, -10%) [5 x 2 = 10].

Ring of Golden Illumination
Illuminates a 2-yard-radius area around the wearer. The light is bright enough to eliminate all darkness penalties in the area. Creatures that are affected by sunlight will be vulnerable to it.
Duration: 1d hours.
Cost: $1,020.
Recipe: $102; 6 days; defaults to Alchemy (Metallic)-4.
Statistics: Create Visible Light 1 (Accessibility, Limited to lighting a 2-yard radius for 1d hours, -10%; Cosmic, Counts as sunlight, +50%; Magical, -10%; Reduced Fatigue Cost 2, +40%) [17 x 2 = 34].

Ring of Incorruption
Preserves the wearer against aging and degenerative diseases, granting the effects of Longevity (p. B66). The effect is permanent, so long as the ring is worn.
Duration: Permanent.
Cost: $300.
Recipe: $30; 1 day; defaults to Alchemy (Metallic)-1.
Statistics: Longevity (Magical, -10%) [2 x 5 = 10].

Ring of Principality
This ring gives +4 to Leadership skill and all Group Performance skills.
Duration: 1d hours.
Cost: $2,280.
Recipe: $228; 29 days; defaults to Alchemy (Metallic)-8.
Statistics: Talent 4 (Leadership, Group Performance; Extended Duration, 300x, +100%; Magical, -10%) [38 x 2 = 76].

Ring of Vainglory
Grants the wearer the ability to afflict another character with the condition of Overconfidence (12) (p. B148). This requires a Quick Contest of Will. The range modifier is -1 per yard of range.
Duration: 1d hours.
Cost: $1,320.
Recipe: $132; 10 days; defaults to Alchemy (Metallic)-5.
Statistics: Affliction 1 (Will; Apparatus, +0%; Based on Will, +20%; Disadvantage, Overconfidence (12), +5%; Extended Duration, 100x, +80%; Fixed Duration, +0%; Magical, -10%; Malediction 1, +100%; No Signature, +20%) [22 x 2 = 44].
