Powers: Words of Creation

Powers: Words of Creation

The last thing I want to convert from Book of Exalted Deeds is the Words of Creation. A good counterpart to the Dark Speech

Words of Creation [50]
The Words of Creations are fragments of a lost language thought to be the precursor of the Celestial tongue. Very few mortals even know a few Words of Creation. Speaking Words of Creation at Broken or Accented is dangerous. Every time you try conveying something via the Words of Creation, make an IQ roll (if Accented) or IQ-4 roll (if Broken) or suffer 1 point of injury.
The Words of Creation have no written form and cannot be transliterated into another language’s written form without losing all of their meaning and power, and their spoken form is very difficult to master. To communicate by means of the Words of Creation the speaker must take great care, or speaker will be harmed. There are no Words of Creation for evil concepts such as misery and hate, but there are many accurate forms for such words as mercy and kindness.
Aside from talking, there are other ways of using the Words of Creation, if you know it at Native. Note that all the following abilities are Alternative Abilities – if one of them is disabled, all of them are.
Celestial Choir: The Words of Creation can be woven into song, forming music that surpasses any earthly melody and echoes the grandeur of the music of the heavens. Words of Creation potentially affect everyone the singer chooses to influence within four yards of him. The singer needs to sing for at least a second, there must be mana, the song is hindered by Magic Resistance, and the target has to be able to hear the song. Allies simply roll vs. Per minus any Magic Resistance they have. Low mana gives -5. The margin of victory or success, respectively, is the number of seconds the song’s effects last. The singer can sing constantly, causing a roll every turn, or cease after a second and hope that the residual effects will suffice. While under effect of the Celestial Choir, the subject gains a +2 bonus to HT and Fearlessness 2 (p. B55).
Creation: In accordance with their original purpose, the Words of Creation can greatly enhance any process of creation. If they are spoken as part of any mundane crafting process, the product will be of amazing quality. Treat this as an automatic critical success on the crafting roll. However, the crafter immediately loses 6 FP from the strain on his mind and body. The crafter can use this ability only once per day.
Statistics: Language (Words of Creation; Native; Spoken Only) [3] + Affliction 1 (Per; Advantage, Celestial Choir, +220%; Beneficial Song, +105%) [43] + Super Luck (Accessibility, Critical successes only, -10%; Aspected, Crafting, -20%; Costs Fatigue, 6 FP, -30%; Game Time, +0%; Magical, -10%; Requires Words of Creation, -10%) [20/5 = 4]. Notes: “Celestial Choir” is Fearlessness 2 (Magical, -10%) [4] + HT+2 (Magical, -10%) [18].
