Sharp Beak (11): thrust 1d-5 large piercing (KYOS: 1d-8 large piercing), Reach C.
Petrification:
With a Ready maneuver, a cockatrice can activate its petrification ability. Any
creature that touches the cockatrice, even insubstantial or ethereal creatures,
must make an HT roll to resist. If it fails, then the creature becomes
permanently petrified. This effect cannot be dispelled by Dispel Magic, but can
be negated by Remove Curse or Stone to Flesh. This ability stays on until the
cockatrice turns it off with a Ready maneuver, and it works even if it is
stunned, unconscious, or asleep, but not dead (however, the tail feathers
retain this ability 1d days after death). Cockatrices are immune to this
petrification ability, but not to other petrification effects.
