Racial Templates: Ogres

Racial Templates: Ogres

It's been a while since I did a racial template post. Ogres traditionally serve as the brute monsters with barely no tactics other than smashing puny humans with huge clubs. I think the average of IQ 9 can justify a wider range of tactics and cunning, and that ogres should be more dangerous because of that. Most of the following templates are too expensive for traditional PCs to use, that is why I probably will make sample monsters using those templates later.

OGRE [-12] (Monster Manual, page 198)
Attributes: ST+6 (Size Modifier, -10%) [54]; DX-1 [-20]; IQ-1 [-20]; HT+1 [10].
Secondary Characteristics: SM +1.
Advantages: DR 2 (Tough Skin, -40%) [6]; Infravision [10]; Reduced Consumption 3 (Cast-Iron Stomach, -50%) [3].
Disadvantages: Appearance (Ugly) [-8]; Bad Temper (12) [-10]; Gluttony (12) [-5]; Greed (15) [-7]; Odious Racial Habit (Eats sapient beings) [-15]; Social Stigma (Savage) [-10].

Knowing Your Own Strength [14]
Replace ST+6 (Size Modifier, -10%) [54] with ST+8 [80]

Common ogres are strong, but not very bright. Lazy and bad-temprerd, ogres solve problems by smashing them. Dwelling in tribal groups, ogres often associate with other giants.

Ogre magi are very different from the normal ogres. They can fly, they are resistant to magic, they can change their appearance, regenerate, and cast spells. What an array of abilities!
