Powers: Kuji-in

Powers: Kuji-in

I was looking through some Dragon Magazine issues and found a short article called The Art of Kuji-in in issue #342. The article describes a ninja art of channeling their ki into spectacular effects via special gestures. It is said that there's 81 different jutsu, but the article describes only seven. Also, apparently this is based on a real-world practice. This is the first time I hear about this. These jutsu seem perfect as premade chi abilities in GURPS.

Hidden Kingdom Jutsu – 43 points (42 points if Chi is -15%)
Your chi can roil from you like a shadowy mist, perplexing your pursuers and immersing them in a dreamlike landscape. If you have two free hands, you can form a complex gesture by Concentrating and spending 2 FP. If you do, you project an illusion in an 8-yard radius around yourself, making natural terrain look (to normal vision and Infravision), sound, smell, taste, and feel like some other sort of natural terrain. Structures, equipment, and creatures within the area are not hidden or changed in appearance. You must win a Quick Contest of IQ – or Artist (Illusion), if better – against the Per of anyone you want to fool; otherwise they notice something “off.” Do not apply range penalties to your roll. The illusory effect lasts for 6 seconds, but you can maintain it for a longer time, paying 1 extra FP every 6 seconds.
Statistics: Illusion (Accessibility, Only to change natural terrain into another natural terrain, -40%; Accessibility, Requires two free hands to activate, -20%; Area Effect, 8 yards, +100%; Chi, -10%; Costs Fatigue, 2 FP, -10%; Emanation, -20%; Extended, Infravision, Taste/Smell, and Touch, +50%; Independence, +40%; Reduced Duration, 1/10, -20%) [43].

Rabbit Prince Jutsu – 10 points (9 points if Chi is -15%)
You can suppress your chi to focus on your smallness in comparison to the vastness of the cosmos. Your steps become light and time loosens its hold on you. If you have two free hands, you can form a complex gesture by Concentrating and spending 2 FP. If you do, your Basic Move is increased by 5. The effect lasts for 6 seconds, but you can maintain it for a longer time, paying 1 extra FP every 6 seconds.
Statistics: Basic Move +5 (Accessibility, Requires two free hands to activate, -20%; Chi, -10%; Costs Fatigue, 2 FP, -10%; Reduced Duration, 1/10, -20%) [10].

Ringing Fist Jutsu – 9 points (9 points if Chi is -15%)
You can vibrate your hands to disrupt material harmonics. If you have two free hands, you can form a complex gesture by Concentrating and spending 2 FP. If you do, for the next six seconds your punches deal additional 1d follow-up corrosion damage.
Statistics: Affliction 1 (HT; Accessibility, Requires two free hands to activate, -20%; Accessibility, Self Only, -50%; Advantage, Ringing Fist Jutsu, +100%; Chi, -10%; Costs Fatigue, 2 FP, -10%; Reduced Duration, 1/10, -20%) [9]. Note: “Ringing Fist Jutsu” is Corrosion Attack 1d (Follow-Up, Punch, +0%) [10].

River Eel Jutsu – 3 points (3 points if Chi is -15%)
A vibrating, shimmering field of chi surrounds you and allows you to move with little friction. If you have two free hands, you can form a complex gesture by Concentrating and spending 2 FP. If you do, you gain Slippery 5 (p. B86). The effect lasts for 6 seconds, but you can maintain it for a longer time, paying 1 extra FP every 6 seconds.
Statistics: Slippery 5 (Accessibility, Requires two free hands to activate, -20%; Chi, -10%; Costs Fatigue, 2 FP, -10%; Reduced Duration, 1/10, -20%; Visible, -10%) [3].

Shadow Puppet Jutsu – 23 points (23 points if Chi is -15%)
The symbols and gestures of this jutsu seem so complex and speedy that they bewilder the viewer. If you have two free hands, you can form a series of complex gestures by Concentrating and spending 2 FP. If you do, choose one creature that can see you perform these gestures. Roll a Quick Contest of DX versus the victim’s IQ, applying normal range penalties. If you win, the victim becomes mentally stunned. He can roll against IQ to recover on subsequent turns normally.
Statistics: Affliction 1 (IQ; Accessibility, Requires two free hands to activate, -20%; Based on DX, Own Roll, +20%; Based on IQ, +20%; Chi, -10%; Costs Fatigue, 2 FP, -10%; Malediction 2, +150%; Vision-Based, -20%) [23].

Thousand Faces Jutsu – 28 points (27 points if Chi is -15%)
You recall and mimic the subtle chi frequencies of others, obscuring your true spirit and clouding the minds of those who view you. If you have two free hands, you can form a complex gesture by Concentrating and spending 2 FP. If you do, you can instantly alter your appearance as per the Elastic Skin advantage (p. B51). The effect lasts for one minute, but you can maintain it for a longer time, paying 1 extra FP every minute.
Statistics: Elastic Skin (Accessibility, Requires two free hands to activate, -20%; Chi, -10%; Costs Fatigue, 2 FP, -10%; Reduced Time 4, +80%) [28].

Wind Oxen Jutsu – 26 points (25 points if Chi is -15%)
You can drive back an opponent with the force of your chi. If you have two free hands, you can form a series of complex gestures by Concentrating and spending 2 FP. If you do, roll a Quick Contest of DX versus the victim’s HT, applying -1 per yard of distance. If you win, you deal 4d crushing damage, doubled for knockback only. This damage deals no injury or blunt trauma.
Statistics: Crushing Attack 4d (Accessibility, Requires two free hands to activate, -20%; Based on DX, Own Roll, +20%; Chi, -10%; Costs Fatigue, 2 FP, -10%; Double Knockback, +20%; Malediction 1, +100%; No Blunt Trauma, -20%; No Wounding, -50%) [26].
