Sorcery: Mind Control Spells VI

Sorcery: Mind Control Spells VI

More Mind Control spells. Ecstasy incapacitated the subject with pleasure (may be addictive, up to GM). Enthrall captivates the audience for an hour. Nightmare makes a night of sleep not peaceful, and Peaceful Sleep does the opposite.
Keywords: Resisted (Will).
Full Cost: 35 points.
Casting Roll: Will.
Range: Unlimited.
Duration: 10 seconds.

The subject is incapacitated with overwhelming pleasure. Treat as Agony (p. B428), but neither Low Pain Threshold nor High Pain Threshold has any effect – and instead of a bonus for torture, someone offering to continue the pleasure gets +3 to any Influence roll! If the subject has Killjoy, he is immune.
Statistics: Affliction 1 (Will; Based on Will, +20%; Ecstasy, +100%; Fixed Duration, +0%; Malediction 2, +150%; No Signature, +20%; Reduced Duration, 1/10, -20%; Sorcery, 15%) [35].
Keywords: Area (Leveled), Resisted (Will).
Full Cost: 41 points for level 1 + 5 points/additional level.
Casting Roll: Will or Public Speaking.
Range: Unlimited.
Duration: 1 hour.

The caster tells an enthralling tale. Anyone within 2 yards (each additional levels doubles this radius) who knows the language and pays attention falls under the spell, resisting with Will. An hour of real time passes, but the victims notice only a minute slipping by. Anyone who resists will perceive the caster and his victims as paralyzed, although prolonged examination will reveal they are moving, very slowly. You can omit any creatures from the effect.
Statistics: Affliction 1 (Will; Accessibility, Requires Words, -10%; Area Effect, 2 yards, +50%; Based on Will, +20%; Daze, Variant, +50%; Extended Duration, 30x, +60%; Fixed Duration, +0%; Hearing-Based, -20%; Malediction 2, +150%; No Signature, +20%; Nuisance Effect, Caster is dazed too, -20%; Selective Area, +20%; Sorcery, 15%) [41]. Additional levels add Area Effect (+50%) [+5].

Keywords: Resisted (Will).
Full Cost: 39 points.
Casting Roll: Will.
Range: Unlimited.
Duration: 1 day or until awakened.

The sleeping subject gets the Nightmares (B144) disadvantage until he awakens (or for 24 hours, if he sleeps for a very long time). He is tormented by horrible nightmares. Sometimes they’re so harrowing that they affect his efficiency during waking hours. Upon awakening the subject loses 1 FP that he can only recover through sleep. On a roll of 17 or 18, he is left shaking, and is at -1 to all skill and Perception rolls for the entire day.
Statistics: Affliction 1 (Will; Accessibility, Only on sleepers, -20%; Based on Will, +20%; Disadvantage, Nightmare (No Self-Control Roll, x2.5), +12%; Extended Duration, 1,000x, +120%; Fixed Duration, +0%; Malediction 2, +150%; No Signature, +20%; Sorcery, -15%) [39].
Peaceful Sleep
Keywords: Buff.
Full Cost: 57 points.
Casting Roll: None. Use Innate Attack (Gaze) to aim.
Range: 100 yards.
Duration: 1 day.

The subject becomes able to get a night of peaceful sleep regardless of any condition. He loses such advantages as Insomniac, Light Sleeper, and Nightmares, and becomes immune to effects that impose such advantages. In addition, he never suffers any ill effects due to the quality of his sleep. He gets an IQ roll to notice disturbances and awaken, just like anyone else; success is automatic if he has Combat Reflexes.
Statistics: Affliction 1 (HT; Advantage, Peaceful Sleep, +10%; Extended Duration, 1,000x, +120%; Fixed Duration, +0%; Increased 1/2D, 10x, +15%; Negated Disadvantage, Insomniac, +150%; Negated Disadvantage, Light Sleeper, +50%; Negated Disadvantage, Nightmares, +120%; No Signature, +20%; Sorcery, -15%) [57]. Notes: “Peaceful Sleep” is Deep Sleeper (Magical, -10%) [1].
