Sorcery: Limb Spells
All three following spells are part of the college of Body Control, and all three of them are related to limbs. Control Limb allows the caster to control his subject's limb. Lengthen Limb stretches his arms or legs. Wither Limb is a crippling melee attack spell.
Control Limb
Keywords: Resisted (ST).
Full Cost: 19 points/level.
Casting Roll: ST.
Range: 10 yards.
Duration: Indefinite.
The caster can take control of a
subject’s limb. This requires a Quick Contest. For this initial “takeover attempt”
only, the caster rolls against his Control Limb spell level multiplied by 4. He
adds a +2 bonus if he is trying to control an arm or leg, or a +4 bonus to
control just a hand or foot, and applies normal range penalties (p. B550) to
the target. The subject (who must be within 10 yards) resists with his ST.
If successful, the caster has
control over that limb for as long as he concentrates. This should be
interpreted liberally. In all cases, treat the limb as having DX equal to the
caster’s and its normal ST.
He can use an arm to attack –
including making the subject hit himself! He can drop weapons, pull triggers, push
buttons, and so on, as long as the subject is already holding onto the
appropriate item or he’s within arm’s reach of it. Control of just the hand
limits the caster to dropping items or manipulating those already held – though
if the subject goes to punch someone, the caster can splay his fingers so he
hits for half damage while taking full punching damage to his own hand. Control
of a leg allows the caster to kick any subject within range – the caster can
make the subject kick himself, but at -1 damage due to the awkwardness. More
effectively, the caster can make the subject fall down, automatically, by
removing support. If the caster controls just the foot, he can halve the
subject’s Move, or twist it suddenly so the subject must make a DX-3 roll to
avoid falling while walking.
Statistics: Telekinesis
4 (Accessibility, Limbs Only, -10%; Animate Life-forms, Partial, +20%; Sorcery,
-15%) [19]. Each additional level adds 4 extra levels of Telekinesis [+19].
Lengthen Limb
Keywords: None.
Full Cost: 4.5 points/level*.
Casting Roll: IQ.
Range: Self.
Duration: Indefinite.
The caster can stretch his limbs in
any direction. Each level of Lengthen Limb lets him increase his effective SM
by +1 with any limb without increasing his overall SM. He can elongate his arms
to increase reach (but not swinging damage, as Lengthen Limb gives no extra
mass or muscle), his legs to negotiate obstacles, etc. For more information,
see Size Modifier and Reach (p. B402).
The limbs grow or shrink at the rate of ±1 SM per second.
Statistics: Stretching
1 (Limbs Only, +0%; Requires IQ Roll, -10%; Sorcery, -15%) [4.5/level*].

Wither Limb
Keywords: None.
Full Cost: 5 points/level.
Casting Roll: None. Use DX or
unarmed combat skills to hit.
Range: Touch.
Duration: Instantaneous.
The caster must strike the subject on
a limb to trigger this spell (hits
elsewhere have no effect). Armor does not protect. The subject’s limb takes 1d toxic
damage per level of this spell. If this damage is not enough to cripple the
limb, the spell does nothing.
Statistics: Toxic
Attack 1d (Accessibility, Limbs only, -15%; All-or-Nothing, -10%; Melee Attack,
Reach C, Cannot Parry -35%; Malediction 1, +100%; Sorcery, ‑15%) [5/level].
