Sorcery: Food Spells VI

Sorcery: Food Spells VI

Even more new food spells! Bottle and Cheese are inspired by Patyrsun's food spells.

    Bottle
    Keywords: Area (Fixed).
    Full Cost: 31 points for level 1 + 11 points/additional level.
    Casting Roll: IQ.
    Range: 10 yards.
    Duration: Instantaneous.

This spell automatically takes food or drink from a common pot, portions it out into available glass or tin containers (caster's choice of shape and type), sterilizes the containers, and seals them allowing the mage to quickly preserve food for later use. All containers to be used must fit within a single hex. The spell’s effective ST equals its level. To find out the mass of food or drinks portioned by a single casting look up the spell’s ST on the Basic Lift and Encumbrance Table (p. B17) and find the corresponding mass value for light encumbrance.
Statistics: Create Contaminants 1 (Accessibility, Only containers that were used for food portioning, -30%; Destruction Only, +0%; Link, +10%; Magical, -10%; Ranged, +40%; Reduced Fatigue Cost 1, +20%; Reduced Range, 1/10, -30%) [20] + Telekinesis 1 (Link, +10%; Magical, -10%; One Task, Portioning food or drinks, -80%; Reduced Time 10, +200%) [11/level].

    Cheese
    Keywords: None.
    Full Cost: 3 points/level.
Casting Roll: IQ or Professional Skill (Cheesemaker).
    Range: Touch.
    Duration: Permanent.

This spell allows you to turn milk into cheese. Critical failure on the casting roll means the transformation happens, but in a way that’s inconvenient or dangerous – the GM should be creative!
Milk can weigh up to 10 x (level squared) lbs. – 10 lbs. at level 1, 40 lbs. at level 2, 90 lbs. at level 3, and so on. The resulting cheese will weight one fourth of that value. This gives the approximate milk-to-cheese ratio of 1 gallon to 2 pounds.
Statistics: Create (Reduced Fatigue Cost 1, +20%; Transmute Milk to Cheese, +50%; Transmutation Only, -100%; Magical, -10%) [3/level].

    Feed
    Keywords: None.
    Full Cost: 9 points.
    Casting Roll: None.
    Range: 10 yards.
    Duration: Indefinite.

This spell creates an invisible force that can use whatever kitchen utensils are available to feed somebody within the range. If no utensils are available, then it can feed as if using a pair of hands. The caster can switch targets at any time. In situations where ST is important (force-feeding, cutting tough meat, etc.) this spell has effective ST 4.
    Statistics: Telekinesis 4 (Independent, +40%; One Task, Feeding, -80%; Sorcery, -15%) [9].

    1. Yes, I am. However, arena battles take much more time and require another person to play out the battle with me, so it might take a while. Also, I'm preparing another solo game post.
