Treasure: Special Materials VI
We're still not done with Pathfinder special materials. Here we have the rest of the skymetals. Glaucite is a quite boring alloy. Horacalcum is a time-bending metal. Inubrix is out of phase with iron and steel. Noqual is highly resistant to magic.
Glaucite
This
dull gray metal is an alloy of adamantine and iron. Glaucite has nearly the
same density as steel, but its DR, hit points, and structural strength are 25%
higher than those of steel. Glaucite armor can be 25% lighter for the same
protection or equally heavy for protection 25% better. +7 CF.
Horacalcum
The
rarest of the known skymetals, this dull, coppery substance warps time around
it, making things seem to speed up or slow down. Almost never found in amounts
greater than a pound, horacalcum is the same weight and density as steel, but
is much more durable. A character wielding a horacalcum weapon or shield gains
a +1 bonus to the appropriate weapon or shield skill rolls. Horacalcum armor
grants the wearer a +0.25 bonus to Basic Speed for every 50% of body coverage (LT100).
+6 CF for weapons and shields, +29 CF for armor.
Inubrix
This
metal’s structure allows it to pass through iron and steel without touching
them, seeming to shift in and out of phase with reality. Inubrix is the softest
of the solid skymetals, being only slightly less malleable than lead. As a
result, it doesn’t function well for crafting armor. Though inubrix weapons can
penetrate most metal armors with relative ease, the weapons tend to break
easily. Make weapon breakage rolls (B376) when parrying any weapon or hitting
any surface with a DR (except Tough Skin). +39 CF.
Noqual
Noqual
looks like a pale green crystal to the untrained eye, but can be worked as iron
despite its appearance. More importantly, noqual is strangely resistant to
magic. Noqual has nearly the same density as steel, but its DR, hit points, and
structural strength are twice higher than those of steel. Noqual armor can be twice
lighter for the same protection or equally heavy for protection twice better. Noqual
items have +3 DR against magic. +39
CF.
