Sorcery: Body Control Spells V
Let's make some new Body Control spells, even though Body Control is one of those colleges that already have many spells. Bear Hug and Catfall probably work as Animal spells too.
Bear Hug
Keywords: Buff.
Full Cost: 26 points.
Casting Roll: None. Use Innate Attack (Gaze) to aim.
Range: 100 yards.
Duration: Three minutes.
This spell optimizes the subject’s musculature for squeezing, granting the subject the Constriction Attack advantage (p. B43).
Statistics: Affliction 1 (HT; Advantage, Bear Hug, +140%; Fixed Duration, +0%; Increased 1/2D, 10x, +15%; No Signature, +20%; Sorcery, -15%) [26]. Note: “Bear Hug” is Constriction Attack (Magical, -10%) [14].
Catfall
Keywords: Buff.
Full Cost: 21 points.
Casting Roll: None. Use Innate Attack (Gaze) to aim.
Range: 100 yards.
Duration: Three minutes.
The subject subtracts five yards from a fall automatically, if their body and limbs are free to move and twist (treat this as an automatic Acrobatics success – don’t check again for it). In addition, a successful DX roll halves damage from any fall.
Statistics: Affliction 1 (HT; Advantage, Catfall, +90%; Fixed Duration, +0%; Increased 1/2D, 10x, +15%; No Signature, +20%; Sorcery, -15%) [21]. Note: “Catfall” is Catfall (Magical, -10%) [9].
Dexterous Arm
Keywords: Buff.
Full Cost: 23 points for level 1 + 11 points/additional level.
Casting Roll: None. Use Innate Attack (Gaze) to aim.
Range: 100 yards.
Duration: Three minutes.
You make one of the subject’s arms more dexterous compared to the rest of their body. This increases the DX of one arm chosen at the time of casting by the caster by 1 per level of this spell (up to the maximum of 4). Note that this increase does not affect tasks that require bodily DX (combat included), and tasks that require arms of varied DX levels. A subject cannot benefit from two different instances of Dexterous Arm at the same time, the last casting overrides all previous ones.
Statistics: Affliction 1 (HT; Advantage, Dexterous Arm 1, +110%; Fixed Duration, +0%; Increased 1/2D, 10x, +15%; No Signature, +20%; Sorcery, -15%) [23]. Additional levels add further Dexterous Arm to the Advantage enhancement (+110%) [+11]. Note: Each level of “Dexterous Arm” is Arm DX 1 (One Arm; Magical, -10%) [11].
Strong Arm
Keywords: Buff.
Full Cost: 15 points for level 1 + 2.7 points/additional level.
Casting Roll: None. Use Innate Attack (Gaze) to aim.
Range: 100 yards.
Duration: Three minutes.
You make one of the subject’s arms more strong compared to the rest of their body. This increases the ST of one arm chosen at the time of casting by the caster by 1 per level of this spell. Note that this does not affect overall Basic Lift. If a task requires multiple arms with varied ST levels, use the average value. A subject cannot benefit from two different instances of Strong Arm at the same time, the last casting overrides all previous ones.
