Ehlonna sometimes appears as a raven-haired human and sometimes as an
elf with golden tresses. Her garb varies, ranging from the serviceable clothing
of a forester or ranger to the delicate gown of an elven princess, but it is
always pale green. Ehlonna watches over all good people who live in the forest,
love the woodlands, or make their livelihood there. She likewise
protects forests and woodlands from destruction or overuse.
Dogma: Ehlonna exhorts her followers to live in harmony with their woodland
homes, taking only what they need. The bounty of the forest, Ehlonna teaches,
is a gift to be cherished and appreciated, not a treasure to be coveted or
looted. Each cleric of Ehlonna chooses a species of plant as their special
ward. They must see to it that their species flourishes and that its properties
are respected by common folk. Clerics of Ehlonna often carry the seeds of their
chosen plant with them on journeys.

The caster gets an understanding of
the emotions and motivations of a subject animal. This reveals the animal’s
emotional state – friendly, frightened, hostile, hungry, etc. – and whether it
is under supernatural control. The caster may also use his Influence skills (p.
B359) on animals he used this spell successfully on just as he would on sapient
beings, which usually ensures a positive reaction.
The basic (4-point) version takes
normal range penalties. The improved (7-point) version does not take any range
penalties at all.

Empathy (Costs 1 FP, -5%; Divine, -10%; Short-Range 2, -20%) [4]. Improved version
replaces Short-Range 2, -20% with Remote, +50% [+3].
Plant Empathy

The caster gets an understanding of
the status of a subject plant. This gives the caster a general sense of the
plant’s health and whether it is natural or supernatural in origin. On sentient
plants this spell gives the caster brief flash of the emotions the plant is
experiencing. This allows the caster to use his Influence skills (see p. B359) on
such entities, which will usually ensure a positive reaction.
The basic (4-point) version takes
normal range penalties. The improved (7-point) version does not take any range
penalties at all.
