Sorcery: Personal Food, Force, Fungus Spells

Sorcery: Personal Food, Force, Fungus Spells

None of the aforementioned colleges have many buff spells, so let's combine them into a single post.

Personal Ablative Barrier
Keywords: None.
Full Cost: 5 points/level.
Casting Roll: None.
Range: Self.
Duration: Indefinite.

You surround yourself with an ablative force screen. You gain DR 4 per level of this spell. This DR takes the form of a field projected a short distance from your body. This protects your body – including the eyes – as well as anything you are carrying, and reduces the damage from attacks before armor DR. This DR is ablative - it stops damage once. Each point of DR stops one point of basic damage but is destroyed in the process. Lost DR “heals” at the same rate as lost HP (including the effects of Regeneration, p. B80).
Statistics: DR 4 (Ablative, -80%; Force Field, +20%; Sorcery, -15%) [5/level].

Personal Absorb Impact
Keywords: None.
Full Cost: 5 points/level.
Casting Roll: None.
Range: Self.
Duration: Indefinite.

You gain DR 4 per level of this spell against fall and collision damage. The velocity of falling is not altered. Reduced damage will be suffered upon landing on a normal surface (spikes, etc. would still do full damage). This DR counts as innate armor, i.e. is not considered flexible when calculating blunt trauma due to collisions and falls.
Statistics: DR 4 (Force Field, +20%; Limited, Fall and Collision Damage, -80%; Sorcery, -15%) [5/level].

Personal All-Eater
Keywords: None.
Full Cost: 5 points or 20 points.
Casting Roll: None.
Range: Self.
Duration: Indefinite.

The basic (5-point) version of this spell allows you to eat derive nutrition from any nontoxic animal or plant protein, but does not grant any resistance to poison. The improved (20-point) version of this spell lets you eat anything organic or inorganic (but not antimatter), even if it’s corrosive, toxic, or radioactive. Your body instantly converts it to something harmless.
Statistics: Universal Digestion (Sorcery, -15%) [5]. The improved version replaces it with Universal Digestion (Matter Eater, +300%; Sorcery, -15%) [20].

Personal Armor
Keywords: None.
Full Cost: 10.5 points/level.
Casting Roll: None.
Range: Self.
Duration: Indefinite.

You and all of your carried gear are protected by an invisible field of pure force. This increases your DR by twice the level of this spell (e.g., Armor 3 adds DR 6), cumulative with that from actual armor.
Statistics: Damage Resistance 2 (Force Field, +20%; Sorcery, -15%) [10.5/level].

Personal Assassin’s Bane
Keywords: None.
Full Cost: 16.5 points/level.
Casting Roll: None.
Range: Self.
Duration: Indefinite.

You, and all of your carried gear, are protected by an invisible field of pure force, but only from the back. This increases your DR by twice the level of this spell (e.g., Assassin’s Bane 3 adds DR 6), cumulative with that from actual armor against attacks made from the back.
In addition, this spell reflects any damage it stops at your attacker. The remaining damage affects you normally. The attacker doesn’t get an active defense against the first attack the spell reflects back at him, but gets his usual defenses against subsequent reflected attacks. Reflection only works vs. direct hits!
Statistics: Damage Resistance 2 (Directional, Back, -40%; Force Field, +20%; Reflection, +100%; Sorcery, -15%) [16.5/level].

Personal Blade Barrier
Keywords: None.
Full Cost: 20 points.
Casting Roll: None.
Range: Self.
Duration: Indefinite.

You are surrounded by a horizontal barrier of transparent blades of force. Everyone adjacent to you or in close combat with you is attacked each second with an effective skill of 14, modified only for size. This attack deals 1d+1 cutting damage. The blade barrier affects even insubstantial creatures.
Statistics: Cutting Attack 1d+1 (Affects Insubstantial, +20%; Area Effect, 2 yards, +50%; Aura, +80%; Bombardment, Skill 14, -5%; Melee Attack, Reach C, -30%; Sorcery, -15%) [20].
