NPCs: Bandits

One thing GURPS seems to be lacking is stock NPCs or monsters. Here's some crime-related NPCs I wrote up that could trouble your characters in the town or on the road at low TL.

Thug

The thug is strong, but not very bright. Nonetheless, he usually only fights when he knows that he will win. Even then, he usually resorts to threats an intimidation. If these approaches do not work, the thug can attack with a dagger in melee or at range, with a blackjack, if he does not want the victim to bleed out, or with a broadsword, if his victim seems tough, and, of course, if the thug himself somehow managed to get his hands on such a weapon. He is wearing a light mail shirt for protection. It is relatively easy to conceal and it not heavy.

Cutpurse

The cutpurse can only be encountered in combat if cornered by the PCs he stole something from. If unnoticed, he will just steal valuable possessions from the pockets and run away. When threatened or spotted, he resorts to fleeing first. In combat, the cutpurse uses the dagger at the DX-4 default.

Highwayman

The highwayman is the kind of bandit that would ambush a merchant on the road with an arrow fired from a camouflaged position. He then approaches his victim, brandishing an axe for extra intimidation. He is wearing medium leather armor for protection, but he probably has his friends hiding nearby to help him in case of trouble.
