Treasure: Special Materials III
Here we have some more special materials from D&D and Pathfinder. Crystal, blood crystal, and deep crystal. I think you can see a theme going.
Crystal
A
very durable glass-like material that resonates with psi energies. Crystal is
exceptionally sharp; cutting or impaling weapons made from crystal get +1
damage per die. Crystal weapon is as durable as any metal weapon as well as
being resistant to acid and electrical attacks (DR 10 against such attacks). When
psionically enchanting a crystal item, the enchanter gains a +1 bonus to IQ
rolls made during the enchantment. +30 CF.
Blood Crystal
Mysterious
radiation deep below the surface of the earth warps once-ordinary quartz into
bloodcraving stone. If a blood crystal weapon deals cutting or impaling damage
to a bleeding creature (creatures with Injury Tolerance (No Blood) are immune),
then the creature takes 1 additional point of bleeding damage, as the crystal
drains blood from the creature’s body. Unfed blood crystal has a pale pink hue,
darkening toward deep crimson as it becomes saturated with blood. A blood
crystal weapon receives no damage bonus for being of fine or better quality.
Regardless of actual quality, treat a blood crystal weapon as cheap for breakage purposes when parrying
a swung weapon made of superior
materials (e.g., iron or steel). +19 CF.
Deep Crystal
This
deep blue crystal that resonates with psi energies can only be found deep underground
or in underwater caverns. Deep crystal is exceptionally sharp; cutting or
impaling weapons made from deep crystal get +1 damage per die. Deep crystal
weapon is as durable as any metal weapon as well as being resistant to acid and
electrical attacks (DR 10 against such attacks). When psionically enchanting a deep
crystal item, the enchanter gains a +1 bonus to IQ rolls made during the
enchantment. A psi wielding a deep crystal weapon can take a Concentrate
maneuver and pay 2 FP to imbue the weapon with a (2) armor divisor for 5
seconds. +39 CF.
