Wizardry: Scribe Spells

Wizardry: Scribe Spells

I got a simple request - write a spell that creates a writing of whatever the caster dictates. However, D&D has some spells of a similar nature, so I will convert them too.

Amanuensis animates a quill pen to transcribe an existing text, providing its own ink.
Copy instantly copies a writing without needing a quill pen or ink.
Write writes whatever the caster dictates without needing a quill pen or ink.
Musical Scribe is a musical version of Write.

Amanuensis
Keywords: None.
Full Cost: 3 points.
Casting Roll: Skill.
Components: V, S.
Cost: 1 FP.
Casting Time: 4 seconds.
Range: 5 yards.
Duration: 30 minutes.

When cast, this spell generates its own ink and animates a quill pen as if it were in an invisible scribe’s hand (though there is in fact nothing tangible or sentient present) to precisely duplicate nonmagical writing. The animated quill writes as fast as the caster (usually around 30 words per minute), and copies as much of any writing the caster assigns it as can be duplicated before the spell expires.
Though the ink created by Amanuensis is unique and does not duplicate the copied work, the penmanship of the copy is as exacting as it can be – roll Forgery at +4 if you’d like to forge papers with this spell.
Once the quill is set to its task, the caster need not be present or in range for it to continue; only destruction of the writing surface or the casting of Dispel Magic upon the quill prevents the writing from being completed. If necessary to complete its assigned task, the quill follows the writing surface at Move 0.5 if it is moved. The quill can be grasped to stop it from writing. If the quill finishes its copying and some time remains, the caster cannot can direct it to begin copying a second writing – he must recast the spell to do that.
An Amanuensis spell cannot copy any magical writing or markings. If directed to do so, the quill hangs motionless. A diary, grimoire, or other work containing passages of text interspersed with spells and magical symbols is copied as text with gaps where the original displays magical markings.
Even though this is not a spell with an indefinite duration, the caster cannot have multiple instances of this spell active unless he took multiple copies of this spell or can maintain multiple spells at the same time.

The Copy spell enables the caster to make a copy of a map, letter, or other written or drawn document. The caster must have a blank parchment or a book with blank pages of sufficient size to hold the copy. The caster holds the blank object over the object to be copied, then casts the spell; the copy appears on the formerly blank object. The length of the text is limited to 10 pages of standard size (roughly 9 inches by 12 inches).
The copy is permanent. If accuracy of the copy is of concern, make a roll against the caster’s Forgery at +4. The spell cannot duplicate magical writings of any sort.

While this spell is active, you may have musical notation of any tune that is played or sung in your presence appear written in ink on any surface within 5 yards. A sheet of parchment roughly 9 inches by 12 inches can contain notations of a tune about 2 minutes 40 seconds long.
Even though this is not a spell with an indefinite duration, the caster cannot have multiple instances of this spell active unless he took multiple copies of this spell or can maintain multiple spells at the same time.

While this spell is active, you may dictate words and have them appear written in ink on any surface within 5 yards. The writing appears as fast as you speak, which typically is about 140 words per minute. A typical page of parchment (roughly 9 inches by 12 inches) contains about 250 words. Thus, a page of text takes roughly 2 minutes to write.
Even though this is not a spell with an indefinite duration, the caster cannot have multiple instances of this spell active unless he took multiple copies of this spell or can maintain multiple spells at the same time.
