Sorcery: Least Spells I
GURPS Magic: The Least of Spells came out not long ago. After buying it I felt that I spent my money well - this is one of my favorite books despite the standard magic system not being used in my games. It's time to convert the plethora of cantrips into Sorcery. Don't forget to buy the book, it's worth it, especially if you use Magic-as-Skills!
Ache

The subject suffers trivial
discomfort that gives no penalties – it is just a bit annoying. High Pain
Threshold grants immunity to this spell.

Belch

Duration: Instantaneous.
This spell causes the subject to
burp loudly, giving +2 to Hearing to notice the victim and, usually, -1 to
reaction towards them, if cast at an appropriate moment. Variants exist that
cause flatulence and other body noises.

Blend In

Duration: 30 minutes.
It becomes easy for the subject to
blend in. The subject’s face is hard to pick out or remember. They get +1 to
Shadowing in crowds, while others have -1 to rolls made to recognize them from
a lineup or mug shots – or even to recall meeting them! Fails automatically on
subjects with Distinctive Features (p. B165), Unnatural Features (p. B22), or
Appearance above Attractive or below Unattractive.

Caster calls any one known, trained animal (like a pet or mount) from afar. The beast receives
+3 to its Hearing roll to notice this, which gives eight times the usual
distance. However, it is not obliged to respond.

Diver’s Blessing

Full Cost: 10 points.
Casting Roll: None. Use Innate
Attack (Gaze) to aim.
Range: 100 yards.
Duration: 1 second.
This spell grants the subject one
level of Breath-Holding (p. B41) for one second. Thus, the subject must hold
their breath on the turn that follows the casting to benefit from this spell.

Flexibility

(Gaze) to aim.
Range: 100 yards.
Duration: One minute.
When affected by the basic (13-point)
version of this spell, the subject gets +1 on Climbing rolls; on Escape rolls
to get free of restraints; on Erotic Art skill; and on all attempts to break
free in close combat (p. B391). The subject may ignore up to -1 in penalties
for working in close quarters. The improved (16-point) version increases the
bonuses to rolls to +3 and the ignored penalties to -3. The greater (25-point)
version increases the bonuses to rolls to +5 and the ignored penalties to -5.

Range: Self or 100 yards.
Duration: Indefinite or 90 minutes.
Subject can use their bare hands to
brush, comb, and otherwise care for the fur of any beast.
The basic (1-point) version of this
spell benefits only the caster; it has an indefinite duration, which means it
must be maintained. The improved (19-point) version can affect anyone, works at
a distance, and does not need to be maintained; it has a fixed, lasting
duration.
Statistics:
The basic version is Accessory (Grooming Tools; Sorcery, -15%) [1]. The
improved version is Affliction 1 (HT; Advantage, Groom, +10%; Extended
Duration, 30x, +60%; Fixed Duration, +0%; Increased 1/2D, 10x, +15%; No

Stand Out

While this spell is active, the
caster can momentarily stop a belch, cough, fart, sneeze, etc. that might embarrass
or give them away. Has to be cast every seconds for ongoing irritations. Cannot
block more serious effects, such as choking, retching, or seizures.
Statistics: Immunity
to Irritations (Requires IQ Roll, -10%; Sorcery, -15%) [4].
Stinkguard
Keywords: Buff.
Full Cost: 12 points.

Duration: 1 minute.
The subject loses their sense of
smell for the duration of this spell.
