Monsters: Fiend Folio Monsters I

I guess I should start another big undertaking and chip away at another D&D monster book. Fiend Folio for D&D 3.5 is one of my favorites, so let's do this one. Abrians are Abyss-dwelling ostrich people. Abyssal ghouls are fiendish undead servants of Kiaransalee or the Ghoul King. I decided to remove most of their resistances. Ahuizotl is an aquatic beast that drowns prey with its tail-hand.

    Shriek: The abrian can emit a shriek that has a chance of stunning every creature within 8 yards. Each creature must make an HT toll to avoid getting stunned. Those who fail can roll again every second after that to recover. This is a hearing-based attack, targets with Protected Hearing resist at +5.

    Talons (14): thrust 1d cutting or impaling (KYOS: 1d+2 cutting or impaling), Reach C. Any victim that takes damage from this attack risks contacting demon fever. After an incubation period of 1d days, he must make a HT-4 roll or take 1d-2 toxic damage. Every day for 4 more cycles he must make another HT-4 roll to resist or take the same amount of damage. After losing 1/3 HP to this poison, the victim gains a -2 penalty to HT until he heals above this threshold. After losing 1/2 HP to this poison, the victim begins to cough (p. B428) until he heals above this threshold. This disease is mildly contagious, as per Illness (p. B442).
    Deathwatch: Using the foul sight granted by the powers of unlife, the abyssal ghoul can determine the condition of creatures near death that it can see with its own sight. It instantly knows whether each creature that it can see is dead, mortally wounded, reeling, undead, or neither alive nor dead (such as a construct).
    Wisdom Drain: The abyssal ghoul can drain IQ from grappled victims grappled by using its smoky tongue. The victim loses 1 IQ per second (this does lower Will and Per), and the abyssal ghoul heals 1 HP per every 3 points of IQ stolen. The victims regain lost IQ at the rate they recover FP.
