Wizardry: Communication and Empathy Spells III

Here we have the last few Communication and Empathy spells. Rary's Telepathic Bond is a quite powerful spell that establishes a telepathic network. Sending simply sends a message across a long distance. I decided to remove the ability to reply to make it more different from Message. Status lets you track the position and condition of your comrade. Tongues is a spell that destroys language barriers. Zone of Truth prevents lying in an area around the caster.
 
    Rary’s Telepathic Bond

    You forge a telepathic bond among a number of willing, sapient creatures. Each casting adds one subject to the telepathic bond, and you can have no more than nine creatures bonded at the same time. All subjects of this spell can communicate telepathically with one another without any success rolls, and regardless of language. This bond doesn’t work across the planes or interstellar distances (0.1 light year).

    You telepathically contact another creature. The subject receives your message, but cannot reply. If you cannot see or otherwise sense the subject, you have an additional penalty: 1 for family, lovers, or close friends; 3 for casual friends and acquaintances; or 5 for someone met only briefly.

    When you need to keep track of comrades who may get separated, Status allows you to mentally monitor their relative positions and general condition. To cast this spell, you have to touch the creature you’d like to track. While this spell is active, you are aware of direction and distance to the subject and any conditions affecting him: unharmed, wounded, disabled, staggered, unconscious, dying, nauseated, panicked, stunned, poisoned, diseased, confused, or the like. The GM will roll against your skill (plus Talent), minus the long-distance range penalty to the subject, and inform you if you succeed. These Sense rolls are in addition to the casting roll and do not cost any FP.

Note: Effectively, this spell emulates effects of the Detect (Specific Creature; Rare) [5] advantage with Analyzing, +100%; Based on IQ, Own Roll, +20%; Costs Fatigue, 1 FP, -5%; Long-Range 1, +50%; Reflexive, +40%; Requires Gestures, -10%; Requires Magic Words, -10% for the total cost of 15 points.

    For the duration, the subject speaks and understands one spoken language, chosen when you cast the spell. You do not have to speak the language yourself! However, the GM is within rights to declare certain languages “secret” or “lost” and thus unavailable unless you first learn the language (to at least Broken) legitimately.

    Creatures within the 4-yard-radius emanation area (or those who enter it) can’t speak any deliberate and intentional lies. Each potentially affected creature has to resist with Will every second. Affected creatures are aware of this enchantment. Therefore, they may avoid answering questions to which they would normally respond with a lie, or they may be evasive as long as they remain within the boundaries of the truth. Creatures who leave the area for at least three seconds are free to speak as they choose.
