Monster: Phycomid

Monster: Phycomid

The phycomid is a yet another fungal monster from the old D&D edition with a yet another variant of spore infection. To be honest, they look fine, I like them.

Acid Stream (12): The phycomid can spew a 10-yard-long line of acidic spores in a line. Any creature in this line takes 1d corrosion damage as large-area injury if it is within 2 yards of the phycomid, or half that if further. In addition, any creature in that line that does not hold its breath (a Sense roll is required to notice the spores in time) and inhales the spores must make an immediate HT-1 roll or suffer 1d toxic damage. Every 10 seconds for 5 more cycles it must make another HT-1 roll to resist or take the same amount of damage. A creature that has died from this spore infection is transformed into a phycomid in 1d days.

Traits: Blindness; Doesn’t Breathe (Oxygen Absorption); Immunity to Metabolic Hazards; Injury Tolerance (Homogenous, No Blood, No Eyes, No Head, No Neck); No Legs (Slithers); Reduced Consumption 4 (Cast-Iron Stomach); Subsonic Hearing (Biological (Passive); Melee Attack, Reach C); Wild Animal (with Mute).
