Sorcery: Eternal Undeath

Sorcery: Eternal Undeath

Whew, I was dreading this moment, but the spells ended up being not as hard to convert as I thought. Lich transforms the caster into a lich, and Wraith transforms him into a wraith.

Monsters/NPCs: Ogres

Monsters/NPCs: Ogres

Two sample monsters using the ogre racial template posted previously. It looks like they deal huge amounts of damage in melee, and when using KYOS their javelins can be very deadly too.

Racial Templates: Ogres

Racial Templates: Ogres

It's been a while since I did a racial template post. Ogres traditionally serve as the brute monsters with barely no tactics other than smashing puny humans with huge clubs. I think the average of IQ 9 can justify a wider range of tactics and cunning, and that ogres should be more dangerous because of that. Most of the following templates are too expensive for traditional PCs to use, that is why I probably will make sample monsters using those templates later.

Sorcery: Communication and Empathy Spells II

Sorcery: Communication and Empathy Spells II

One of the players in my ongoing game soon is going to "unlock" his magical abilities. He's planning to focus on the college of Communication and Empathy, and I have barely touched this college. The player went along and did a write-up of some spells. After looking them over and making some changes, I decided to post them here. Hide Emotion hides the subject's emotional state. Persuasion and Vexation give a bonus or a penalty to a reaction roll. Sense Emotion allows the caster to read the emotional state of a subject. Sense Foes detect enemies.

Sorcery: Limiting Enchantments

Sorcery: Limiting Enchantments

Looking at the Enchantment College I see that some of the spells seem to be unconvertable. For example, limiting enchantments apply some limitations to make enchanting cheaper, or make the use of the enchanted item limited. I cannot think of a way to represent these spells as Sorcery spells, but they sound exactly like something the Extra Option perk could be used for! Each of the following perks adds a new modifier for the form multiplier (GURPS Thaumatology - Sorcery, pg. 29).

Sorcery: Shapeshifting Spells

Sorcery: Shapeshifting Spells

Shapeshifting wizards have always existed in folklore. Turning people into frogs, taking on a shape of a wolf, etc. Shapeshifting allows the caster to assume a form of a single animal. Permanent Shapeshifting does not require maintenance. Shapeshift Others lets the caster turn the subject into an animal. Great Shapeshift lets the caster assume any form within his power limits.

Vehicle: Dacia/Renault Logan I

Vehicle: Dacia/Renault Logan I

Some time ago one great person on 4chan's /tg/ began to compile a fan collection of GURPS vehicles, while also providing the contributors with a conversion guide. I know nothing about cars and most other vehicles, but I still decided to try my hand at converting a vehicle from a real world into GURPS. I chose the first model that came to my mind - Renault Logan I.

Sorcery: Animal Spells II

Sorcery: Animal Spells II

Some more animal spells, some of which I had to build from scratch, without basing on the existing spells. Will come in handy later! Beast Link establishes a mental link with a beast and forces the animal to follow you around. Beast Speech allows the caster to communicate with animals. Master is a spell that holds an aggressive animal still. Rider is useful when a mount is needed in the wilderness. Spider Silk is a simple binding attack.

Sorcery: Animal Spells

Sorcery: Animal Spells

I've neglected the college of Animal spells for a while, so it's time to get my hands on it. Beast Summoning is an expensive spell that calls the nearest animal to the caster. Beast-Rouser excites an animal, while Beast-Soother calms it down. Hybrid Control takes over a hybrid (a griffin, a manticore, etc.), and Repel Hybrids creates an area avoided by the hybrids.

Sorcery: Voice Spells

Sorcery: Voice Spells

The college of Sound is full of voice-altering spells. Converse allows the caster to talk to his subject directly even in very noisy conditions. Great Voice enhances the volume of the subject's voice. Imitate Voice lets the subject imitate a single voice familiar to the caster. Silver Tongue makes the subject more persuasive. Alter Voice works as Imitate Voice, but changes the voice, instead of letting the subject imitate one. This post is now obsolete due to the release of GURPS Sorcery: Sound Spells.

Sorcery: Sound Spells II

Sorcery: Sound Spells II

Sound spells are very useful for stealthy spellcasters and for countering the enemy spellcasters. Garble makes the subject unable to speak coherently. Hush makes the subject unable to produce any sounds. Mage-Stealth works as Hush, but allows the subject to speak. Noise fills an area with a loud distracting noise. Sound Vision allows the subject to navigate as if using sonar. This post is now obsolete due to the release of GURPS Sorcery: Sound Spells.

Sorcery: Sound Spells

The college of Sound is not very big, but has many useful spells for combat, defense, mundane tasks, entertainment, and other purposes. Sound and Voices produce auditory illusions of meaningless or meaningful sounds, respectively. Silence blocks sounds in an area, and Wall of Silence creates a soundproof wall. This post is now obsolete due to the release of GURPS Sorcery: Sound Spells.

Monster: Flesh Golem

Monster: Flesh Golem

Flesh golem is a classic D&D monster, being inspired by the Frankenstein's Monster. It's slow, strong, and has no free will. Even when obeying its master, a flesh golem has a small chance of going berserk in combat. Its macabre appearance can cause the golem to be mistaken for an undead creature.
